How to play DVD movies in Windows Media Player
DVD Ripper
Rip DVD to variety kinds of video and audio formats. Why can’t I play a DVD in Windows Media Player?
I’m Windows XP User, I want to play DVD using Window Media Player, but it seems disabled. Then I search on line and find many resolutions. So people who have the same problems please follow.
1. If your Media Player can not play a DVD, please first check the follow reasons:
(1) A compatible DVD decoder (MPEG-2 decoder) is not installed on your computer.
(2) A DVD drive is not installed in your computer. (Most DVD drives have a DVD logo printed or embossed on the front of the drive.)
(3) Windows Media Player 9 Series or later is not installed on your computer.
If the (2), (3) are not the reason you can’t play DVD, the (1) could be the right reason, because Windows Media Player in the Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, or Windows XP operating system on your computer don’t install a compatible DVD decoder (also known as a MPEG-2 decoder).
2. Three solutions for viewing DVD movies in Windows Media Player.
Solution One: If you find a compatible DVD decoder (MPEG-2 decoder) is not installed on your computer for playback a DVD, you can purchase a compatible DVD decoder from Plug-ins for Windows Media Player. It is easy and useful.
Solution Two: Download a player which could play DVD (MPEG-2 files), like VLC Media Player. It’s free and it can play many formats with good quality. It’s really a good choice, but not in your Media Player for playing.
Solution Three: Convert DVD to WMV to playing on Windows Media Player by using this Moyea DVD Ripper. It’s a program which could rip and convert all your DVDs, commercial DVDs to any other formats for playing on any media players or devices. So you can convert DVD to WMV, WMA for any version of Windows Media Player. In the long run, it is a good and wise choice.
Now I hope all these solutions could help you to view your DVD movies in Windows Media Player now.
