Microsoft PowerPoint supports video format like WMV, MPG, AVI, not DVD VOB file. This guide shows you how to rip DVD to WMV, MPG, or AVI with “stripping out” the video to the length you really need for the presentations.
Part 1. Convert DVD to WMV, MPG or AVI with Moyea DVD Ripper.
Please download, install and launch Moyea DVD Ripper, then follow the steps below.
1. Load the DVD files to the program you want.
To load the DVD files, you just need to click on the “DVD Rom” or “DVD Folder” button. If you know certain title with the IFO/ISO file, you may click the “IFO/ISO File” button to browse the right one for you.
2. Choose MPG, WMV, or AVI as output format for PowerPoint.
Microsoft PowerPoint supports the following video formats: ASF, ASX, WPL, WM, WMX, WMD, WMZ, AVI, DVR-MS, MPEG, MPG, MPE, M1V, MP2, MPV2, MP2V, MPA, WMV, and WVX.

3. Trim the video length and get what you want for presentation.
Select the chapter or clip which contains the segment you want, and click the “Edit” button to a new window, then you can trim the video with the exact duration under the “Trim” tab.
Drag the slide bar or enter the exact time to set the duration you want to display on your PowerPoint.
4. Start conversion of DVD segment to PowerPoint by clicking the “Convert” Button.
Check the box for opening output folder after conversion. After a while, you can find the output file. Then you can add the video(s) to your PowerPoint.
Part 2. Add Converted Video to Your PowerPoint.
1. Open the PowerPoint file, within which you want to add the video.
2. Click on a slide, which you want to display the video, and then choose Insert > Movie and Sounds, and click Movie from File. Then browse to where the movie file is located, select it, and click OK.
3. Before the movie is inserted, you’re prompted with a message asking how you want it to start. Click one of them to suit yourself. (Click Automatically if you want the movie to start by itself. Click When Clicked if you want the movie to play only when you click the movie frame on the slide.)
4. Then the movie appears as a still frame on your slide. Right-click on the video, and choose “Play Video”. You can see its effect.
Now you can show your DVD video on PowerPoint with small file size on any occasion.
