Why 3GP?
3GP file format has a number of advantages.
* 3GP is a simplified version of the MPEG-4 Part 14 (MP4) container format. It stores video streams as MPEG-4 Part 2 or H.263 or MPEG-4 Part 10 (AVC/H.264), and audio streams as AMR-NB, AMR-WB, AMR-WB+, AAC-LC or HE-AAC v1 or Enhanced aacPlus (HE-AAC v2). A 3GP file is always big-endian, storing and transferring the most significant bytes first.
* 3GP is designed to decrease storage and bandwidth requirements in order to accommodate your mobile phones. So a 3GP file format has an even smaller bandwidth and file size overall than the MP4 to fit it all in the comparatively lower memory space of your mobile phone.
* 3Gp media files can also be played on your computer if you like; you can easily transfer 3gp files to computer by using an USB Cable or through Bluetooth.
